Blue Dome Poster Contest
Contest is open to all 2D media.
Overall poster dimensions are 11” by 17” (see PDF template file for specific dimensions)
Digital submissions only -- slides and prints will not be accepted.
1. Entries must be in .jpg format, compatible with both Macintosh and Windows
operating systems.
2. Individual entries not to exceed 2 Mb in size. Do not over compress the image,
instead send it at 72 ppi.
3. Submissions should be emailed/uploaded to bluedomeposter@att.net, or sent on CD
to the P.O. Box address listed on the website. Files must be named in the following
manner: artist name_title of work.jpg (i.e. smith_blue.jpg)
4. Winning entrant will be required to submit a full resolution, reproduction quality digital
file (300 ppi) for insertion into the poster. No upsizing from lower resolution images
permitted. for example: a 72 ppi contest entry can’t be resized to 300 ppi for the poster.
Downsize the high resolution image to enter, then use the original file if selected.
5. Entry Deadline Is March 26th, 2008
Contest will be judged by the Blue Dome Committee and the decision will be
final.
The ideal design will embody the essence of the Blue Dome Arts Festival, which
features local artists in the historic Blue Dome Arts District. This is also the 5th year for
the Festival, so one might consider a theme along those lines.
Since the appearance of the design is very important, work that needs to be
photographed should be done by a competent photographer. In other words, the typical
point and shoot camera will not have the quality needed for the final poster.
Winner will have their name as designer on the poster. Additionally they will receive 10
copies of the poster, recognition on the website and a VIP lanyard/privileges for the Blue
Dome Arts Festival 2008.
